The sprites are not outright low quality, but they could do with a bit more polishing. However, this art style, much like the writing, gets the concept right but misses on the actual implementation. Mediocre or bad: I mentioned liking the art style earlier. Being based on mascots of the 2chan site, they are fairly trope bound as far as VN characters goes and i would of course like to see a bit more nuances from pretty much all main characters. On one side you have "solving the mystery of the world" and on the other side "establishing relationships on a summercamp trip". I myself liked the polar nature of the plot. As someone else in this thread wrote, the concept is there, but the execution is somewhat lacking.
The writing could indeed be better at several points. It deals deals with some heavy topics, mostly related to existentialism. Good or acceptable: I found the main plot and the topics it deals with to be quite interesting. The art style was another way ES made itself stand out from the crowd. It wasn't too difficult and time consuming to get through all the different route and endings.
I also happen to like the amount of decisions made and their impact. Route variation: One thing i liked about some of the routes was the way they diverged from the standard romantic progression and instead tried for something different. Backgrounds too are in the top tier category, scenery porn as you might name it. Its music isn't heavily dominated by piano pieces and that is very refreshing. Great stuff: The soundtrack is simply superb. When i had just completed it, it likely was my favorite, being all fresh in my mind a such. ES does however hold an edge on the others being the most unique in a couple ways, so even if it stays on the top of my somewhat short "played VN's" list, i wouldn't call it a favorite and opinions change with time. It's probably not my favorite, but moreso because the all VN's i've been through could be considered good at least and several great. Played through it the first 2 times without a guide and the used a guide to get all available endings and scenes afterwards. There were some interesting aspects brought up from time to time, but their conclusion or even non-conclusion made it completely irrelevant. But as a VN, it's probably among the worst I have read.

I didn't find a single thing that I really thoroughly enjoyed in this VN, and reading through it with the huge language difficulties was incredibly frustrating, since most sentences did not really give me valuable new information (when you need a minute for every sentence, it becomes much more apparent how tight the writing is and how much fluff text is in there).Īt the very least it gave me some good practice at the time since the language wasn't that difficult, plus the background work is magnificient. It's typical harem stuff with every stereotype you can imagine, written from the perspective of an incredibly boring wuss to whom I felt like screaming "MAN UP DUDE" constantly. I simply fail to understand what makes it so good/outstanding compared to other indie VNs.
Well, at least I probably have the highest reading time out of everyone here with 118 hours :D. So apparently I haven't read the "juicy parts" that everyone is so hyped for. I think I reached like 2 true endings of characters and didn't think it's worth it to pursue it anymore. I used it to practice Russian a bit, but stopped doing it after a couple of endings.
